120 YEARS ANNIVERSARY IN MILAN ROYAL PALACE

On the last evening of Milan Fashion Week, namely February 25, 2019, the heart of the city was throbbing with excitement and delight, because the best chefs, culinary experts, talented beginners and influential figures of the gastronomy and fashion world climbed the stairs of the royal palace. All these people were waiting for a reception in honor of the celebration of the 120th anniversary of S. Pellegrino. Held in collaboration with Camera Della Moda, the Italian Chamber of Italian Fashion, S. Pellegrino’s 120th anniversary was a truly stellar event attended by such famous chefs as Davide Aldani, Carlo Kracco and Moreno Chedroni, who gladly took their place of honor in the historical Sala delle Cariatidi.

This exceptional setting was ideally suited to celebrate S. Pellegrino’s impressive 120-year history and was an event that highlighted S. Pellegrino’s close connection with the gourmet world and, in particular, the brand’s unshakable faith in supporting young talents.

4 DISHES, 4 CHAPTERS OF AUTHENTIC ITALIAN HISTORY
Each evening meal was designed to present a separate chapter in S. Pellegrino’s 120-year history, accompanied by light, music and theatrical effects, giving guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of the famous Italian sparkling water.

When the guests arrived, there was already a serious revival in the kitchen: young chefs Elizabeth Pukuio Landeo (S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2018, finalist of South America) and Yasuhiro Fujio (winner of S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2018) were joined by chef Paolo Griffa (Italy finalist S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2015) to prepare a four-course evening dinner.

With the introduction of Chapter 1 (Nature), the hall was lit up with cloudy works of art shrouded in white misty haze. Glass domes appeared on the tables, symbolizing the source of water, which originates from rain, clouds and earth. Meanwhile, a young chef Landeo’s dish of white crispy cod with smoked potato foam, presented as a light meal, caught the essence of nature and marked the beginning of this gastronomic journey.

In the second chapter, the scene was prepared to recreate the origin of S. Pellegrino, which began in 1899 at San Pellegrino Terme. Here was presented the magical Casino, which in those days was collecting the cream of society. And the dish itself reflected the spirit of the times: the restored structure of the Casino appeared on the tables, giving guests the opportunity to see the growth and strengthening of S. Pellegrino in Italian culture.

Chef Paolo Griffa made pumpkin risotto with robiola cheese, topped with a waffle and an amaretto okroshka in the shape of a S. Pellegrino star. The dish reflected the Italian roots of the brand.

With the main course (chapter 3), the evening acquired a clear international character: S. Pellegrino noted the brand’s entry into the world stage. From Moscow to New York, Paris, Shanghai and Sydney – today S. Pellegrino is synonymous with Italian sophistication, style and lifestyle. While guests admired the theatrical performance in the form of cityscapes moving along the entire length of the tables, the young chef Yasuhiro Fujio treated the guests with brisket with soy sauce, yellow carrots with yuzu and pak-cho, in a word, a cosmopolitan dish, which perfectly suited the international audience of S. Pellegrino.

Dessert (chapter 4) sparkled in every sense of the word and was a gianduiotto in the form of a diamond with a jubilee bottle of sparkling water with a diamond cut. For the first time, a special limited edition bottle was presented to the general public. She embodies S. Pellegrino’s values ​​such as eternity, beauty, and authenticity.

For 120 years, we, together with the whole world, have been celebrating the best moments, supporting young talents, determining the future of gastronomy and go hand in hand with the main characters of the world of haute cuisine. The 120-year anniversary evening was an unforgettable event for everyone who shared a meal and marked another milestone in the history of the brand, which is looking forward to the future.
